Bernadette Peters

 

Bernadette Peters, born Lazzara, was born February 28 in 1948. She is an American singer, actress and children's book author. In her career, which spans over six decades she's appeared in musical theatre, television and film, performed performances on her own and recorded. She is a critically acclaimed Broadway performerwho has received seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award) as well as nine Drama Desk Award nominations, which she won three. Grammy Awards have been won through four of the Broadway productions which she has appeared on.



 



 Regarded by many as one of the greatest interpreters of of Stephen Sondheim. Peters is recognized for her performances on the Broadway stage, which includes the musicals Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1984), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2011), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
